Just to add some info, Michal submitted a proposal for GSoC and
Outreachy multiple times for the rewrite of libvirt-snmp as it's not
maintainable in its current state.  Since nobody selected that, or at
least from what I know, it shouldn't stop you from working on that
project.  I just feel that it might be a good heads-up that rewrite
might be the best option if you want to add features.
