  Unfortunately 0.9.5 seems to have shutdown operation severely broken

This means I'm likely to push a release 0.9.6 tomorrow (or well soon
enough) if we get a good fix quickly. Please don't commit major changes
at this point, elts consider we are still in bug fix only freeze
for now !
