OK found it. The PATH record was exactly 8192 bytes long and this was traced 
to the snprintf at line 696 of auditd-event.c. So, the problem is in the 
audit daemon...new version will be created soon.

Does anyone know of any other bugs regarding audit daemon & utilities?
