You'll be much better off using 2.6.32 when it comes out.  A whole bunch of
patches have just gone in which will make it much more robust.

I believe that is incorrect.  It should be "user_xattr".

There wouldn't be, I suppose.  You built it in:

 <*>   Filesystem caching on files

You could try changing that to <M>.

What's the specific message?

Your cachefilesd is looking in the wrong place for its device file.  It
should now be looking for /dev/cachefiles.
