[Linux-cluster] Device missing

One of my GFS file system is no longer mountable because the device
associated with it has disappeared from my system. The file system is
named /gfs02 and the device it points to is /dev/pool/pool_gfs02.

[root dvblkc01a gfs]# mount /gfs02
mount: special device /dev/pool/pool_gfs02 does not exist
[root dvblkc01a gfs]#

The device /dev/pool/pool_gfs02 is missing from my /dev/pool directory.
It used to be there.

[root dvblkc01a gfs]# ls -l /dev/pool
total 0
brw------- 2 root root 254, 65 Nov 29 18:22 dvcluster_cca
brw------- 2 root root 254, 66 Nov 29 18:22 pool_gfs01
brw------- 2 root root 254, 67 Nov 29 18:22 pool_gfs03
[root dvblkc01a gfs]#

The device /dev/sdc2 is associated with /dev/pool/pool_gfs02:

poolname pool_gfs02
subpools 1
subpool 0 0 1
pooldevice 0 0 /dev/sdc2

The device /dev/sdc2 seems to be available to the system:

Disk /dev/sdc: 71.7 GB, 71728889856 bytes
255 heads, 63 sectors/track, 8720 cylinders
Units = cylinders of 16065 * 512 = 8225280 bytes

Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System
/dev/sdc1 1 2 16033+ 83 Linux
/dev/sdc2 3 8720 70027335 83 Linux

So, how do I get this device and file system back so I can mount it and
what would make it dissapear in the first place?
