no. I just fixed a bug where the gcc4 compiler wasn't doing what I thought it would (because gcc3 did...)
Did you fix the bug in STABLE or in HEAD? I just updates to the latest STABLE version, and it still produces the errors above.

Well, it did until I tried to actually mount a gfs fs. Now I get the same errors as above from lock_gulmd, when the kernel-module tries to access the locking daemon.
I tried porting your changes to the kernel-module - I'll report if it worked or not.
FYI, things work now, after porting the changes from gulm/src/xdr_base.c to gfs-kernel/.../xdr_base.c
