Mainly scalability and performance. I've done NFS based systems before and they've had problems once you pass a certain number of clients unless you spend a fortune on NetApps or the equivalent.

Looks like I'm going to go with Storagetek or netapps though. I'd rather have used something like the Equallogic iscsi box, though.
