[linux-lvm] Running Linux-LVM on not-so-recent Systems

Hi,

I'm not living on the bleeding edge of the Linux Kernel Hacker community.
And I would really like to use LVM on my vast array of test machines with
different kernels from 2.0.34 to 2.2.7 (I need those for testing software
I am developing myself).

The FAQ says to mail a kernel patch request to Heinz. Hmmm, of course I
know how responsive Heinz is, but I'm wondering if there might be a better
way.

Does anybody have an idea how many different patches are actually needed
to serve the kernel range given above?

How much work is kernel patching when it comes to new versions of LVM?
What I mean is: can the kernel patches be kept reasonably stable when LVM
changes?

Volker
