[Open-scap] building and running OpenScap source

Greetings -

I am new to the OpenScap API and have spent some time reviewing the online slides that provide code examples.   The available documentation, however, does not appear to provide directions on how to build the project so that I can test and run some examples.   Any reference guides would be greatly appreciated!   (It's been a long time since I dabbled with C/C++ and make files)
