We can, and I suspect it will require external help, at least in
identifying a solution. The main technical work done on the site is
via Acquia, so if we found a Drupal module that did equivalent work,
that would be great.

If it's outside of the Drupal scope, it might require technical
expertise as well. But if it's something we can ask Acquia to do,
even if it means we ask them to do some custom coding, let's at least
take a look at what that will cost.

I think using Omniture was part of the "getting things going", since
it's the tool used for redhat.com et al and so provides an integrated
report for whoever is interested in what Red Hat's presence on the web
is like.

For a similar story, when we found the Omniture code was in the
template for fedora.redhat.com, we removed it. We had all the server
logs, and preferred to work upwards from there. I think the main tool
used now is 'awstats', which makes nice enough graphs but doesn't
provide all the fancy slicing and dicing that Omniture does.

Having the capability to slice and dice Drupal, if it doesn't already
exist, would be a pretty major boon for Red Hat to (get) code(d) back
to the community.
