Removing and inserting is historically fragile and prone to problems --
kernel developers threaten to remove the ability to use rmmod every so
often :)

Bill -- any ideas on a good way to handle this?  Nothing is immediately
coming to mind for me, but it might just be that ti's too early on
Monday morning
