Greetings Fliers!

The PatternFly design team has been busy investigating several new topics
for inclusion in the pattern library. Initial research and conceptual
designs have been published on the PatternFly blog. If you haven't already
done so, it would be great if you can take a few minutes to read these over
and give us your feedback. This will help us refine these ideas prior to
adding them to the PatternFly website.

To let you know what's there, I've included a brief summary of each topic
below...

Entering Numeric Data on Forms
<https://blog.patternfly.org/entering-numeric-data-on-forms-investigation/>
by Tao Zhu
This post summarizes usability research on how users prefer to enter
numeric data on forms and what this can tell us about creating guidelines
for numeric data entry in enterprise applications.

Quick Filter: Improvement for the Current Filter Pattern
<https://blog.patternfly.org/quick-filter-improvement-for-the-current-filter-pattern/>
by Melody Zhong
Melody has been doing research on methods for quickly applying standard or
frequently used filters to a data set with a single click. This post
summarizes her proposal.

Advanced Filter <https://blog.patternfly.org/advanced-filter/> by Melody
Zhong
Enterprise applications often require complex filters to extract objects of
interest from a large data set. This post proposes a generalized advanced
filtering solution to augment our current Filter pattern
<http://www.patternfly.org/pattern-library/forms-and-controls/filter/>.

Responsive State for the Notification Drawer
<https://blog.patternfly.org/responsive-state-for-the-notification-drawer/>
by Haley Wang
The Notification Drawer
<http://www.patternfly.org/pattern-library/communication/notification-drawer/>
is an existing mechanism for examining recent events without leaving the
current UI context. This post looks at how the existing design can be
extended to work when running a PatternFly application on a mobile device.

Editing Data on Forms <https://blog.patternfly.org/editing-data-on-forms/>
by Matt Carrano
Questions often come up about the best approach for editing form data
within enterprise applications. This post explores some options and offers
some guidelines around choosing between different approaches to the edit
problem.
