You already know I don't find "we have a small bunch of idiosyncratic
users who ..." to be a compelling argument for choosing one thing over
another.

In fact it makes it more likely I'll pick the other, since when you say
this it's almost inevitable that you think the other is the better
selection for normal use.

Maybe we need an icon off to the side? With an alt text this may make it
easier for screen readers to work out what is going on?
