never seemed to exit.  just looped on :: error

    
When the task is in errror, there's an exception and a traceback
associated with the status. Perhaps the cli can print those out when it
sees an error.

Fixed! If an error occurs, you should see something like this:

$ pulp repo sync --label=test1174
Sync Status:: error
RepoError: Cannot retrieve repository metadata (repomd.xml) for repository: test1174. Please verify its path and try again

$
