RE: problems with sound configuration



There are a few extra steps necessary after compiling the kernel:

- if the directory /lib/modules/<kernelversion> exists, rename it to something
like /lib/modules/<kernelversion>.save
- in /usr/src/linux do a 'make modules' and a 'make modules_install'
- make sure /lib/modules/<kernelversion> exists. If you got
/lib/modules/<kernelversion>-versionnumber (e.g. /lib/modules/2.0.34-0.6) make a
link to /lib/modules/<kernelversion> (/lib/modules/2.0.34)
