samba error: Failed to setup RT_SIGNAL_LEASE handler

In my logwatch i find the following error returning daily:

**Unmatched Entries**
smbd/oplock_linux.c:linux_init_kernel_oplocks(287)  Failed to setup 
RT_SIGNAL_LEASE handler : 35 Time(s)

On one of the samba mailing lists it is suggested to add the line:
kernel oplocks = no
in smb.conf.

Someone else on the same mailing list believes that this will result in 
performance drops.

Has anyone an idea what the best approach is to get rid of the error?
Or would it be best to ignore the error?
