"x" won't start after red hat linux 9 installation

The log looks normal except for this and this may just be because you
killed X. Although it may be caused by stale file(s) in /tmp or your
home directory because you are having to kill X.

Try adding these options one at a time or a combination of them to the
"Device" section your /etc/X11/XF86Config and then try to startx. 

option "NoAccel" "yes"

option "UseBIOS" "off"


See if either one of these options allow X to start. This is just a
driver bug and one/both of these options may work around it.
