vsftpd timestamp question

Hi group,

I have vsftpd running, but when someone up loads a file to it the date 
on the file is changed to 5 hours in the future.  From what I can tell 
it is working off GMT time as I am is EST that is 5 hours behind.

When I run the date command on the server I get "Fri Nov 5 10:??:?? EST 
2004", so the server has the right timezone.

Does anyone have any ideas what is going on, in the conf do you have to 
setup the timezone?
