Do you see the driver load? This is sometimes easier to see if you use
the text install mode rather than the GUI mode ("boot: linux text").

It's easier to see the other consoles if you install in text mode.
ALT-F2, ALT-F3 and ALT-F4 will show them (ALT-F1 is the main console).
If you use the GUI installer, I think it's SHIFT-ALT-F2 through -F4.
