I am trying to install Redhat 9 on the following.

AMD K6-2 400Mhz processor
512 RAM
don't know mother board info right now.

I get the following error at the start of the packages
install.

-------------------
Error installing package

There was an error installing glibc-common-2.3.2-11.9.
The can indicate media failure, lack of disk space,
and/or hardware problems. The is a fatal error and
your install will be aborted. Please verify your
media and try your install again.

Press the OK button to reboot your system.
-------------------

I have checked the media. I have tried various
things:

1. nodma noapic
2. installing to ext2 instead of ext3 partitions.
3. ftp/http install

One thing I notice, that the install reports the
glibc-common rpm package as like 186,000KB but the
actual rpm is only like 12MB.
