RHES3: comand's to config networkadapters ?

Hello

Are there a way to configure the Networkinterfaces or the network config
files "ifcfg-eth0|1", "route-eth1" and|or "network" whit a shell comand
?
The only way that i know is redirect direct to the config files or to
use redhat-config-network with a gui for Enterprise Server 3.0.
