You have an MP3 player.................. xmms.  http://www.xmms.org/

What you don't have are the codecs allowing xmms (which is the default audio 
player) to interpret mp3s.

Add fedora.extra to your apt-get or yum configuration and get the xmms_mp3 
rpms.

There are several other ways to add this capability.  Aren't there always 
options with Linux?
