no i do not't think so, once u installed grub as boot loader and booted from linux , then u will be able to manage list all os's list in grub.conf file located /boot/grub and see your fdisk -l to list all partitions and enter in grub.conf acordingly.

  Thanks Ajay for your kindness.
A friend of me said, i should repair windows XP first, and after that i could execute the command grub-install /dev/hda. He told, if i do not repair windows XP first, the GRUB can present only Windows ME and RH9 and windows XP would not be showed in the choice list.
  Is his oppinion correct?

    nothing just check
    grub-install /dev/hda

it wiil install grub (mbr) in first sector of your harddisk

    if u use grub-install /dev/hda1
it may work and will install grub in first sector of your partition

    but former is better

    try it!

      Thanks for the answer.
i am confused with numbering of hda. There are hda0, hda1, hda2 and so on.
      Which one should i use?
