That's not technically true, though both daemons are part of the 
University of Washington IMAP package that ships with Red Hat.

Same packages, yes.

Same way you did it in 7.2.  It runs out of inetd.  Have a look at the
files in /etc/xinetd.d/, and I think you'll see what you need to do.

Make sure you have opened the appropriate ports, if the box is 
firewalled.
