did you re-start sendmail?

P.S. Try to find info on using sendmail.mc. What Michael suggested is 
valid, to be sure, but the general accepted way is to modify your mc 
file and let m4 convert it to a cf file.

There are heaps of reasons to do it that way, and I can't be gaffed 
getting into them all, but just do it if you can.
