Upgrading hardware

It's trivial.  Memory will be automatically used.  You may want to
create a larger swap file when you first set it up though.

For the second CPU, you've got a couple of options.  You can install the
smp kernel now and just run it with a single cpu, or you can install and
run the uniprocessor kernel (which it will default to).  When you add the
2nd CPU, just install the latest smp kernel at that time, double check
your grub configuration to make sure you're going to run the right
kernel, and reboot.  We did this with an old P III/500 and it took us a
lot longer to the get the BIOS issues straightened out than it took to
install the smp kernel.
