Look in /etc/sysconfig/rhn/up2date (it's a file so use an editor).....
look for storageDir......it's the place where the files are stored on 
retrieval.  You may or may not be keeping the files after you update. 
There is an option you can turn off...I think it's on by default (on = 
it keeps by default)
