httpd: Could not determine the server's fully qualified domain name

Diego, 

Since Fedora Core 3 comes with Apache 2.0, I assume you installed/compiled 1.3.33 on this machine. Most likely, the httpd daemon in /etc/init.d is pointing to the wrong configuration file. vi this file to verify..   

Otherwise, I can't replicate the problem. In the past, this has been my experience in fixing this. 


1) In the /etc/hosts file, put your FQDN. (You won't have to define a ServerName in httpd.conf)

10.0.0.1	linuxserver.internal.embraer.com.br


2) In /etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf, change the ServerName ( no changes to /etc/hosts needed)

ServerName linuxserver

# nslookup XXXX

Address:        XXXX #53

Name:   XXXX .com.br
Address: SERVER_IP


I need the server_name be only the host name without the .com.br for my
intranet.
why does the httpd don't accept this configuration?
