Apache Alias - can it be a url?

Hello,

I'm trying to setup an alias in my apache config file in redhat 9:

Alias /email http://info.winnefox.org/index.php?id=321

But, I get a 404 when I try going to http://info.winnefox.org/email

Do I have the alias line correct?
