I wondered about that.  Do a     rpm -qa | grep gd-devel    and    rpm 
-qa | grep libgd

If nothing comes up then you found the problem.  As far as scrolling 
problems go, I would recommend changing the default scroll history from 
500 (think that's it) to around 1000 or 2000.  Then you can go up 
further and see where the problems are.  Usually it's under profiles or 
preferences.  All depends on what console/term you are running.  Not 
sure if there is a log written.  If there is I would check in the 
working directory for anything with a .log or _log (log something at least).

Check first if you have the binaries loaded.
