Dear all, Iḿ having the folowing problem, each time I try to load a
program using libpng it shows this message:

[Sergio at localhost Sergio]$ up2date
/usr/bin/python: relocation error: /usr/local/lib/libpng12.so.0: undefined
symbol: inflateInit_

or

[Sergio at localhost Sergio]$ metacity
metacity: relocation error: /usr/local/lib/libpng12.so.0: undefined symbol:
inflateInit_

or

[Sergio at localhost Sergio]$ redhat-config-xfree86
* ddcprobe returned bogus values:
ID:   None
Name: None
HorizSync: None
VertSync:  None

python2.2: relocation error: /usr/local/lib/libpng12.so.0: undefined symbol:
inflateInit_

the error appears to be in the libpng, but the inflateinit is part of the
zlib library.

[Sergio at localhost Sergio]$ redhat-config-xfree86
* ddcprobe returned bogus values:
ID:   None
Name: None
HorizSync: None
VertSync:  None

python2.2: relocation error: /usr/local/lib/libpng12.so.0: undefined symbol:
inflateInit_
[Sergio at localhost Sergio]$ rpm -qa | grep libpng
libpng10-1.0.13-11
libpng-1.2.2-20
[Sergio at localhost Sergio]$ rpm -qa | grep zlib
zlib-devel-1.1.4-8
zlib-1.1.4-8

I tried to reinstall the libpng package but the error remains.

Any help or clue?

Thanks in advance,

Sergio
