ftp backup to other machine

Hi,

im backing up my data on a backup folder on my machine and every week i ftp and download the backup folder manually to my local pc in case of hard drive failure,
can anyone advice me how i can automaticly add a cron job or script to ftp from my server to a machine and push my backup folder to the remote machine automaticly every week??
