Could not open connection to the host, on port 143

Another trivial question. I am trying to check whether my email server
allows connections to imap services. So, I tried the following



C:\Documents and Settings\nagarjuna_cherukuri>telnet hydlmuk2 143

Connecting To hydlmuk2...Could not open connection to the host, on port
143: Con

nect failed



I have installed email server on different box 2 weeks back and it
worked fine there. But, it is not working working with new box. I tried
disabling firewall by running "service iptables stop" and "chkconfig
ipchains off". Still, I am not able to telnet to this box at port 143.
Can anybody tell me if I am missing something here?



Yes, imap service is up and running.
