Fairly big, at least if you're running kernel 2.6 (RHEL4):

We have, however, used XFS for some _large_ filesystems in the past (it 
happened to perform more quickly with the size and number of files we 
were handling. That was a while ago though, and I'd have to re-test XFS 
vs ext3. Off the top of my head I'd recommend ext3 because it's so well 
supported by so many tools.
