I could be wrong in understanding the problem but you might try reinstalling grub on the root partition. Something like this grub> root (hd0,0) grub> setup (hd0) and then repeat for the 2nd drive using hd1 of course. You need to be sure where your root partition is however and replace it in the hd0,0 command. Hope that helps \R
