Set write permissions by default for group?

I had the same issues and found these two settings for the smb.conf
file....

 
directory mask = 774
force group = smbqa

Check the settings:

   create mask
   force create mode
   directory mask
   force directory mode

You can also try "inherit permissions" which overrides any of the above
but be sure you understand how it works.
