How to check NTP work or not?

Try this (as root or with sudo),
service ntpd stop
ntpdate clock.redhat.com
ntpdate clock.udell.edu
service ntpd start
ntpq -p
If the "reach" column in the output of ntpq -p is greater then 0 then
ntp is working.
Have you changed the default ntp.conf?
