cron scripts for maintenance

If you haven't already done so. edit /etc/aliases and, near the bottom, 
set a recipient for root's mail:

# Person who should get root's mail
root:           whomever at mydomain.com

run newaliases

This will send the daily logwatch email to whomever instead of local root.
