If you have the grub shell available, try to state a manual boot
loading:
1. Mount the root partition (use TAB to complete the devices if
necessary): root (hd0,0)
2. Load the kernel with the boot options: kernel /boot/vmlinuz-blablabla
ro root=/dev/sda1
3. Load the initrd: initrd /boot/initrd.img.gz
4. Boot up: boot
PS: The device and file names used here are just for example, please
change according your server's configuration.
