USB devices on RHES 5.1 not detected

Oy. I see that on my openSuSE 10.3 system, as well. I have to play all kinds of
games to get the system to see it when I put a camera drive in. One thing you
*might* try is umounting before you pull it out. Yeah, automount will allegedly
take care of this....
