two processes

hi Simon...

my question wasn't for me.. rather for others who might see the other
reply.. and would want additional information.

i've often seen repies of yes/no for something that didn't jive with what i
read/found/knew.. so i've come to believe that the more information someone
might provide to support their opinion/answer.. the better...

I would suggest to take a look at the man pages of the two process ...
It should explain you why it is not advisable to disable them. Or at
least does it help you to understand the consequences if you do so:
