Alternative to GFS - Cluster Filesystem

GFS is GPLed or is freely available as far as we are concerned. We have
been running GFS volume on Fedora 10 systems for free. The thing I have
to say though is that if you desire a *stable* cluster system, I
recommend the RHEL version.
Alternatives to GFS are the Lustre FS
(http://wiki.lustre.org/index.php/Main_Page now under Oracle I
believe) and Gluster
(http://www.gluster.com/community/documentation/index.php/GlusterFS).
I have played a bit with Lustre and it works but is a PAIN to setup and
administer in terms of complexity.
Oracle is promoting also OCFS ( http://oss.oracle.com/projects/ocfs/)
geared towards large RDBMS systems.
I hope this helps
