Sizing DL-380 / DL-580 systems?

It depends on the server load profile. You have to perform analysis of the current system to understand exactly how those resources are being stressed. Start with the big three - CPU, memory utilization, and disk IO. That will lead you to be able to guess how much of an improvement you will see by improving any or all of those.

Subject: Sizing DL-380 / DL-580 systems?

Hello All -

Sorry for posting an out-of-line request to this mailing list, but I am
thinking on this elite list someone as

already figured it out. Thought to ask, anyway.

How can a system DL-380 G6 or DL-580 G6 be sized in terms of CPUs and
memory requirements?

For example, if a current system with 2 dual core CPUs with 8GB RAM is
operating at 80% of system resources

how can calculations be put in place to ascertain the number of CPUs and
memory required to reduce the system

resources up to 40%.

thanks in advance,
