Re: [rhelv5-list] bonding NICs in RH5

It's pretty much the same, below is how it's configured on one of my systems

in /etc/mod[probe.conf put:
alias  bond0  bonding
options bond0  mode=0 miimon=100

and in /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts:

[root tristan ~]# cat /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-bond0
DEVICE=bond0
BOOTPROTO=none
BROADCAST=132.77.5.255
IPADDR=132.77.4.105
NETMASK=255.255.254.0
NETWORK=132.77.4.0
ONBOOT=yes
#TYPE=Ethernet
USERCTL=no
IPV6INIT=no
#PEERDNS=yes
GATEWAY=132.77.4.254
[root tristan ~]# cat /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0
DEVICE=eth0
BOOTPROTO=none
ONBOOT=yes
MASTER=bond0
SLAVE=yes
USERCTL=no
[root tristan ~]# cat /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth1
DEVICE=eth1
BOOTPROTO=none
ONBOOT=yes
MASTER=bond0
SLAVE=yes
USERCTL=no

then, later run
/etc/init.d/network restart

and you should be all set!
