I assume you are in Texas?

I've been doing some testing over the last year with my local ISP
(same ISP as you ;) servers in the Virginias and there have been times
where I've just lost resolution, both primary and secondary IPs.

As such, I've actually setup a simple polling script test access to
port 53 of the primary and secondary.  When they fail I change to
Google's DNS, which only has the downside of not being as regionally
resolving (i.e., I find it won't always give me the most local Aikami
and other content servers).

Just some considerations, since you mentioned the same ISP.  Some of
their tech support has actually been very receptive to information
I've provided.
