Why would you or Bruce or anyone actually expect anything to get fixed
if you don't do bugzilla reports or add yourself to existing bugzilla
reports on the same hardware with the same problems as you?

If you had read through the bugzilla reports that I linked (or better
yet, you would have noticed this link...

https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/KernelCommonProblems

which tells you that acpi=off is a really big hammer and of course you
don't need to add timesource=acpi_pm to kernel parameters to get Fedora
8 - x86_64 to boot on an Optiplex 320... it's already shut that all off
because you're using acpi=off. Hardly subtle...

I really wish that people with Dell Optiplex 320's would get signed up
on these bugzilla entries and provide feedback/pressure to get these
things solved once and for all.

Again - to reiterate... the two active bugzilla reports on Dell Optiplex
320's are:

General report - probably the only hope here is to get them to fix grub
so it works on this hardware...

This is the kernel-developers bug and hopefully will work out the kernel
issues and the regression in 2.6.23 with respect to this hardware...
