I don't think RH or Linux limits partition or filesystem sizes beyond the
limit, you're OK. That is if you can claim these filesystems as raw and if
your database supports raw dbspaces. (I don't think the minor dbs like MySql
,etc. do.)

Maybe you should consult with the database vendor. They probably have
customers that have had to deal with this problem.
