[rhn-users] RH4 Install Problem - "No hard drives found" (Adaptec 2005S 0-channel controller)

Howdy,

I'm trying to install RHEL ESv4 on a 1U SuperMicro server that uses a
0-channel Adaptect 2005S as the RAID controller. This box used to run RH
9, and I've got ESv3 installed on there now, but v4 keeps coming up with
'No hard drives have been found' and so the installation becomes useless
(why it even continues to the next step, I don't know). I've opened a
ticket with RedHat but it isn't going anywhere useful, not yet at least.
I tried making an Adaptec driver disk, but that didn't work (apparently
RH uses a different i2o driver now, so the RH3 driver from Adaptec won't
work (how nice)). The last thing I got from RedHat was that my
controller isn't supported, and I find it hard to believe that they
/removed/ support from a RAID controller in the new version of the
driver (but maybe they did...).

I'm open to any and all suggestions that might move my RH4 installation
forward...

Cheers,
Matt
