If you make update ES 4.0 to ES 4.0 Update1 as Mr. Schmidt said you dont need to reinstall.
Anaconda will warn you something like "new installation or update exists ES 4.0"
But if you want to make update from ES 3.0 to ES 4.0 is recommended to make a new install.
