Hi,

I had the same problem, but using cdrecord with the following options
created CDs that passed the media check:

cdrecord -v dev=1,0,0 speed=4 driveropts=burnfree -isosize -dao -eject
RHEL4-i386-AS-disc1.iso

I think it was "-isosize" that did it for me.
